Our History
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Salem was established in 1930.
When it began its mission, it engaged widely in education work and started the Little Flower School in Four Roads in the same year.
To date, the Diocese of Salem is known for offering quality education, especially to rural and urban communities.
Lately, the late Most Rev. Dr. Michael Bosco Duraisamy, Bishop of the Diocese of Salem, thought of starting a Matriculation School, an advanced educational opportunity to the residents of Salem from the middle class.
This led to the emergence of St. John's Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the year 1990.
Bishop Most Rev Dr. Singaroyan S, continued the legacy, focusing on providing academic excellence and personal and interpersonal skills.
Under the leadership of our present Bishop, His Excellency Most Rev. Dr.Arulselvam Rayappan, the Bishop of Salem and Chairman of our school, St.John's Matriculation School remains committed to imparting quality education and moral values to students and strives to prepare them with social responsibility.
The priests of the Diocese of Salem serve as principals, fostering a sound human formation for the holistic development of students, enabling them to become well- integrated individuals.
